The World Sucks

I start this new year without income,
and still trapped in
this horrible place.

I try to create or provide things
to offer value or entertainment.

Please help.

"While job loss persists for Americans making less than $20 an hour, the rich have gotten richer."

"Vaccine Won’t Mean End to Social Distancing, Says UK Govt Doctor"

"Bill de Blasio Dances in Times Square While Keeping New Yorkers Out"

"Teachers union leader who pushed classroom boycott to ‘stay safe’ shared some nice vacay pics from Puerto Rico"

'Moderna Delayed its Vaccine Trials to Ensure it had "Enough" Minority Representation'

"Dozens of people in West Virginia were mistakenly given Regeneron’s Covid-19 antibody treatment instead of the Moderna vaccine...."

"...[I]t is possible that about 152 million people are already immune."

'...[B]asic civil liberties were sacrificed at the altar of potentially saving “just one life” from a virus with a 99.87% survival rate....'

“Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of the day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers (adminstrators) too plainly proves a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing us to slavery.” - Thomas Jefferson

To which Foreign Correspondent Jacob N., Trapped in New York, adds "Oh, joy. Your (and my) tax dollars hard at work, providing useless crap: US Army Will Introduce Combat Cloth Face Covering. I thought that the pandemic was going to end soon, what with vaccination and all, so by the time these silly things are issued, they won’t be needed. Reminds me of the Spanish American war, winter coats for Cuba!"

Michael G. sends the oblivious backstabbing RINO of the day: "Living in his own world - says GOP is moving away from Trump."

Followed by, "College mob wants to shut down college newspaper. Because it can't satisfy their every insane demand." Which segues to,

"Gender Studies prof admits his course is worthless." Don't go to college.

With, "Not a good sign when they fire the auditors. One might even think this college is a scam."

And, "Ancient climate was warmer than today." Butbutbut polar bears drowning no not that either.

Immigrants Contributing to Society

Burn the government schools

Hey remember when the National Socialists made lists of certain kinds of people?

  • Remember, peasant, you'll have "your" day
  • in their court.
  • Hey you know how if you harm a police dog while it's attacking you, you get charged with a crime?
  • Everything is getting worse all the time
  • To which Michael G. adds the end of independent transportation. Which I have also touched upon.
  • Followed by, "Black lives matter, unless it's really cold outside: And the perp who was 'murdered' while non-violently shooting at the police is an immigrant contributing to society."

The Crown Joule, Part 31, is online. If you find this fictional future history entertaining, please consider a charitable donation through the PayPal button at the top or bottom of most pages on this site. Thank you. This is the mature audiences episode, in the vein not least of John Ringo. Also this was originally scheduled for next Friday the 8th, but in my unemployed idleness I got ahead on the writing and decided to post two chapters for Christmas last week. Remember this entire series is a sequel to, and partial continuation of, the previous series, Aurora, which should be read first. In fact Part 32 next week will see the return of those characters.

'“Equiterra” is the sort of place that can only exist through brainwashing.'

Which is not unrelated to YouTube deleting lots of videos and entire accounts right before our very eyes. If I happen to notice one I've embedded I'll remove the code just to clean up the HTML, I guess, though there's something to be said for leaving the blank there to point out the censorship.

To which Michael G. adds "More weirdness about Nashville bombing. And yes, if this is the first improvised thermobaric bomb in the US it won't be the last."

With, "Student govs at WI state colleges demand fossil fuels divestment. In the middle of winter. BTW, here where I live the city started dumping snow in the lot they normally pile it in the winter, we always call it 'Mount Snowmore', but this year the base of the pile is twice as wide as usual. I'm assuming that the climate forecast is for heavier than usual snowfall this year. Obviously the fault of global warming."

Remember all those Chevy Volts catching fire? Michael wonders, "What would happen to an eco-terr's EV or hybrid? If you caught them in the act and started putting bullets into the battery pack while they were out of it doing their nefarious acts? It might actually be more like the movie version of bullets into the gas tank than real bullets into a real gas tank. Fire or not, enforced exposure to the environment that want everyone else to live in would do us all a world of good."

  • By which he means, "Aspen authorities downplaying eco terrorist attack: 'That's to say we're not about to offend the wealthy lefties who are the real people here by throwing the book at whichever of their kids did this. Nor are we going to offend Earth First's wealthy supporters despite the misery that ecoterrorists cause. Not when they're the ones in power.'"
  • To which is contrasted, "The prosecutors in Kenosha have ignored all the video evidence...."
  • Meanwhile in this horrible place, "Portland mayor to get tough on riots now that election is over. Now that it can't be used to hurt Trump."
  • Also, "Iran Threatens President Trump’s Life. Cue Biden ordering the Secret Service protection to stand down."
  • Codrea points out discrimination in the banks, still.
  • Demographic warfare as official policy.
  • Your Tuition Dollars At Work, perpetuating institutional racism.

To which Michael G. adds, "Libs: Antifa is non-violent. Also libs: saying GOP needs to act like Antifa is a call for violence."

Followed by, "Invading North Dakota via the colleges: Activists angry at the president of ND State U because he wouldn't violate 1A, so he caves and lets them punish all the other students with mandatory diversity classes."

  • With, "in NYC, the landlord gets evicted, the deadbeat tenant stays. Using Dr. Zhivago as an instruction manual for commies." Also:

Writing continues. I still intend four main storylines to eventually weave together, but I find myself having to suspend the fourth in order to synchronize it with the others, as I mentioned previously. Therefore that one's place will be taken by other things as filler, such as a direct continuation of Aurora this Friday, and other people doing other things in turn, until the other three stories have caught up. • Back here Michael observed "...[E]ver notice the huge Venn diagram overlap between those who want to get rid of cops and those who think only cops should have guns? It's only a small group like us who only support the former but oppose the latter." Comes now what that means. Which segues to

Blogbrother SMLE Fan sends a copypaste of a Facebook post by Larry Correia, which I can't access because I don't use Facebook:
"This was a comment I made in someone else’s post yesterday, but then it started getting shared:
"I don't even like Trump, but I've spent the last four years getting screamed at by angry people for defending him, when I'm actually usually just defending basic reality.
"Oh, we are so fucked. Today is nothing. It's probably going to get worse, because we're on a road that I can't see any off ramps.
    "Sorry, here comes a rant.
"People are confused and constantly bombarded by conflicting information, some correct, some bullshit, and nobody knows what to believe because nobody trusts the people we are supposed to be able to trust. Then we have a super powerful global media complex that straight up gas lights everyone, and we're shocked the people have lost trust in information sources.
"Then when people have valid concerns, they get mocked, belittled, and insulted. They get gas lighted and told what they've seen with their own eyes didn't happen, and then they're 'fact checked' with things that are basically a list of excuses generated by partisans who have zero clue what they're talking about.
"Repeat that daily, for literally every topic, and you get to a point where nobody trusts anybody and we have massive competing groups that can't even agree on basic pieces of relative truth anymore. And social media then rubs that in everyone's face, so we don't feel any commonality with our countrymen.
"But that's basically because we are several different countries crammed into one. As a people we've got two primary philosophies with a bunch of offshoots of those two, except they are mutually exclusive and cannot exist at the same time. So instead we get a muddled mixture of nonsensical bullshit that isn't really either, but is primarily a vehicle that exists to benefit the same people who benefit from our totally untrustworthy information sources.
"Then let's have a global pandemic, make everybody poorer, put them out of work, make everything they would normally do to blow off steam illegal, and once again if they express any concerns about this situation and the conflicting information presented to them, they get insulted, belittled, disparaged, and disrespected.
"Then let's have riots and looting and arson and murder for months on end, where the rule of law appears to be a one way street.
"Oh, and let's have a bunch of scandals with our political betters that tell everybody we have a two tiered justice system, where we're peasants, but our moral betters can do pretty much anything and get away with it.
"All while our information sources obviously lie and conflict with each other and run interference for their powerful friends, but giant soulless mega corporations will straight up destroy regular mundane people if they feel like it.
"And then at the very end of this shitty year, let's have a election that is insanely anomalous in a bunch of ways, but let's not actually investigate it in any meaningful manner, and instead let's just insult anybody who is concerned about it.
"Because nothing bad could possibly happen from tens of millions of people believing that their votes will never matter again and the system is irreparably rigged against them in a country with billions of guns and nuclear weapons.
"Whew... And that's just this year, after the last two decades of escalating tensions in a country filled with people who hate each other's fundamental beliefs.
"Which brings us to now... Which is why when buildings start exploding and politicians get beheaded, I won't be in the least bit surprised.
"And I'm usually the optimist. I'm seeing people I would consider boring vanilla normies, not gun culture people, not Trumpkins, not preppers, not even that political, now talking about violence and revolution like those are perfectly normal topics. Twenty years ago that was reserved for us internet gun nuts and taboo crazy talk for everyone else.
    "Yeah... we are basically fucked."

"Norwegian Nursing Home Patients Dead After Receiving First Dose Of Pfizer COVID Vaccine"

"I wonder how long it'll be before California starts rationing gasoline to keep its citizens from traveling?"

Michael G. sends Thomas Kratman on the stolen election:
"Widest possible sharing authorized and encouraged; share via copy and paste. Be sure to include my name, so the left can understand I am not afraid of them and perfectly willing, on my own ticket, to fight:
"So why, after all this, do so many of us still believe the election was stolen?
"In the first place, there are two things we mean by 'the election was stolen.' They’re mutually reinforcing, yes, but they’re not the same. The first of these is via the influence of media and social media. It was not illegal for them to have been Biden’s campaign, but they were Biden’s campaign. What that means, in practice, is that they used their privileges under the first amendment to violate the intent of the first amendment. I say 'privileges,' by the way, rather than 'rights' because by their conduct they have undermined the first amendment to the point we can calmly consider killing it, as regards the media, as so many lefties want it to be killed for the common citizenry. It no longer serves its purpose.
"The second factor is our belief that actual spurious ballots were introduced into the system by both mailing in and other means. And the numbers were not even that large; Trump 'lost' by about twelve thousand in Georgia, eighty thousand in Pennsylvania, and under twenty-one thousand in Wisconsin. Let’s not pretend that those were particularly difficult numbers to have illegally come up with.
"But there’s not a shred of evidence... the courts....
"Look, friends, we live in the age of MiniTru and Comrade Ogilvy. We have precisely zero sources of reliable direct information. Don’t believe me?
    "Answer these questions:
"1. What was on Hunter Biden’s laptop?
"2. What party and philosophy ruled the states that drove United States’ Covid stats into the stratosphere?
    "3. Who took the blame?
"4. How much evidence did there turn out to be of Russian interference with the 2016 election?
    "And, conversely:
"5. How many Arab states has Israel recently signed peace treaties with?
"6. Who got NAFTA replaced with a treaty that more carefully guards US workers' interests?
"7. Who hasn’t gotten us into any new wars?
"8. Under which presidency did the United States regain energy independence, so we DON’T get into any new wars?
"9. Why are illegal immigrants largely going or staying home?
"10. And how much do we hear about this: USPS worker charged with dumping ballots, as mail carriers perform extra trips before Election Day?
"And, if you don’t know the answers to these, ask yourself why you don’t?
"Moreover, why did Facebook and other social media suppress any notion of election fraud? One doesn’t need to suppress a lie; 'a lie will not stand.' There’s only benefit in suppressing 'inconvenient truths' (to steal another fraudulent Democrat meme).
"Of course, when you control the media, a lie most certainly WILL stand... if it’s your lie.
"Instead, we are thrown back on secondary increments of data, because the left isn’t clever enough – well, not YET, anyway – to have doctored those. ('Call for Comrade Ogilvy from Democratic Party Headquarters! Comrade Ogilvy please pick up the red phone in the lobby....')
"Among the secondary sources of information are:
"The railroading of secession through various Democrat-run southern states by careful selection of those who would be allowed into the secession conventions.
    "Tammany Hall.
"'Vote often and early for James Michael Curley.'
"The Battle of Athens and the E. H. Crump (Democratic Party) political machine.
"Cook Country, which is to say, Chicago, 1960.
"Princess Nudelman, the dead goldfish (yes, I know the fish didn’t cast a vote. What’s important is that someone TRIED).
"Look at the heritage.org election fraud map.
"In short, election fraud is so completely a part of the Democratic Party and the left, more generally, and has been for so long, that it would only be remarkable if there were a close election where there wasn’t any. We expect it. If we can’t easily see it, we expect it to be only because it’s a little better hidden than usual.
"The Democratic Party is and always has been a party of corruption, heavy on power, short of or bereft of principle. The only difference between it and any given sub-Saharan African kleptocracy is in the shade of skin.
    "But what about the courts?
"No, wait; you didn’t know that the legal profession is up there – or down there – with college sociology departments for its tendency to lean left? You didn’t know that coming up with direct evidence is often quite difficult? Investigations take years to uncover single instances of discrete bank fraud; we’re expected to find evidence of massive voter fraud quickly? See below.
"Then, too, one might well wonder just which John Roberts it was that visited Epstein’s pedophile island. Epstein didn’t waste his efforts on nobodies, you know; oh, no, he turned over the use of his harem of barely post-pubescent teens to the already powerful and the up and – you should pardon the expression – comers.
"I don’t know that it was him. I will not insist it was him. I want to see an honest investigation into whether or not it was him.
"Of course, to be more fair than he probably deserves, Roberts probably does think he’s heading off a civil war. He’s wrong, of course, as Roger Taney was before him; he is bringing the war closer and ensuring it will be worse.
"Difficult to come up with evidence? Enter the mail-in ballot, a positive Godsend for would be election fraudsters. Just think about what’s required to prove effective fraud on that scale. It’s not the mere one hundred and thirteen thousand votes that allegedly swung things in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
"We’re not talking here about railroading Jefferson Washington Lincoln III, the small-time dope dealer and occasional fence. Oh, no; this is a much more – an infinitely more – difficult problem.
"For one thing, the investigators would have to scrub the voting rolls themselves. Then they’d also have to scrub the obituary columns and social security death register for the last century or so... or three. Add in the birth and naturalization records. They’d have to match not just the one hundred and thirteen thousand votes in question, but every mail in ballot AND every other ballot too. (No, the mere likelihood of most of the fraud coming via mail does not rule out more traditional methods.) And they’d have to do all this in a country that has an automatic revulsion against keeping and consolidating those very kinds of records, and often where the government in charge of the states in question will interpose every possible obstacle. And all of that with MiniTru ensuring that no adverse information ever sees the light of day.
"Has anyone put that kind of effort into the investigation? No, they have not. Hence, with the best will in the world, the courts had not enough to work with. Hence, none of the investigations can be said to be valid. No, none of them. Neither can any of the court decisions, even where legally sound – and they were not all legally sound; Roberts, you swine, I’m looking at you – are dispositive, either.
"So forget it; the information coming from the media is doctored and dishonest, with anything contrary studiously suppressed. The investigations were trash. The court’s refusal to hear cases prejudiced where not just outright unconstitutional.
"Now some ignorant toad is going to scream, 'Conspiracy loons! Conspiracy theory!'
"Not on your life. People are not competent to conspire at this level, while Biden, cowering in his basement, certainly wasn’t. No, no; this is not a conspiracy but a consensus or, rather, several of them. A consensus exists when similar people, with similar values, backgrounds, and educations, see similar issues and problems, similarly, and come up with similar programs and solutions. A consensus doesn’t rule out conspiracy ('Adam, should we introduce spurious bit of bullshit X as people’s exhibit A, for the impeachment trial?') but doesn’t depend on it either. It was sufficient in this case for enough middle and lower party workers and sundry activists, plus the media and the vile and filthy denationalized rich to a) believe that the only legitimate directions for the United States to go were further left, more globalist, less nationalist, more feminist, less nativist, etc., b) to recognize the promise of mail-in ballots, c) to deny for themselves that any principle is more important that continuing to move in those directions, and d) a resolve to do it, each in his or her or s/h/its individual capacity. No, Facebook did not conspire with Twitter; there was no need. No, X judge didn’t conspire with the Democratic Party; there was no need. No, Buffet and Bezos and Billzebub Gates didn’t conspire with Soros; there was no need. There was no need because they share a consensus.
"And, so, no; we do not have any faith in the election results. Nor will we have, especially since we are quite certain that election fraud is now the way of the future. Soon to be President Harris (does anyone, anyone at all, have any illusions about that? Did anyone, ever? I have no more doubt of it than I have that she gives the best blowjob in the world, if the payoff is right) will never be considered legitimate. And she, and we, can expect everything from civil disobedience to nullification to riot to resistance in arms until the war commences. (Bet you didn’t know that the South was not the only region the states of which engaged in nullification.)"

    Followed by:
"So where do Trump and the nation go from here?
"He needs to do three things; start his own news channel, start his own party, and start his own well-armed militia as part of the party.
"The militia – again, a well armed militia – is necessary to present a threat in being to the powers that be such that, should they use extra-, pseudo-, and quasi-legal means to try to suppress the party, the price presented will be far too high. The militia will be heavily infiltrated; this is a given. No matter; it will not be there for any purpose but to present a serious threat of major combat, and the shame of defeat, and the reality of death, to the tactical elements, police and military, that may be used against the party.
"It ought to be made clear that, 'I can start the civil war with a stamp of my foot. I’ve refrained, so far, but you cannot count on that restraint under all circumstances. And if I am infiltrated, you are even more so.'
"The militia should probably be neatly but simply uniformed, nothing flashy. Solid colors, no camo. Haircuts and facial hair trimmed. A simple shirt and bluejeans for non-firearms related activities / head busting.
"The party must be populist, through and through. Conservatism – and, nota bene, Trump was never a conservative – is, if not quite dead yet, at least very, very ill. That party should draw support from, to the point of destroying, the Republican Party, such that its few remaining members must go to the Dems, where they will be treated like shit. This isn’t entirely about revenge, but what’s wrong with revenge, anyway?
"So what’s a proper populist platform look like? Feel free to disagree but I think number one is jobs; and the Dems will help here, YUUUGELY, as they crumble the economy. Oh, yes, they will. Number two is military strength; this always plays well with Jacksonian Americans. Number three, an end to foreign entanglements.
"The party platform should be explicitly and strongly anti-racist. Americans are largely past racism, and would be near enough to completely past it except that the left trots out its tanned skin regularly to frighten the children. This also means that Trump needs a small intel sub-organization expressly to advise him, in advance, which radicals he must condemn as soon as they show their heads. And he must listen to it.
"The party should actively recruit working class blacks, Hispanics, and Asians. This is not merely for political support, oh, no; they can engage in violence at need even while putting the lefty media into shock because they cannot condemn people of color for anything they do.
"The news channel? It is not my area of expertise, but I think a shadow-governmental weekly address by Trump would be all to the good. Hire away Fox’s few remaining right wingers. Put Alex Macris in charge."

    And so does the tone-deafness.

Larry Correia gets his knives out on that topic, to which blogbrother SMLE Fan later copypastes from Correia's Facebook:

"Okay, place your bets. Which country is the US going to invade and have an endless war against in order to 'bring us together against a common enemy'? Name the country and the kickoff date and then we can refer back to this to see who wins. (and someone will inevitably win).
"Super divided country (polls show about 70% of republicans and 30% of democrats think civil war is probable, and those are just the ones who want to admit it), we've got an unpopular president half the country despises (and the other half doesn't actually like him either, they just voted against the orange dude they really hate) and there is zero common ground between our two mutually exclusive philosophies who hate each other.
"So finding some little foreign country to go to war against will be a no brainer for our Ivy League Think Tankers. Democrats love war when they're in charge. Establishment republican leadership also loves war, and they know most republican voters are patriotic, so they'll be busy hating foreigners/terrorists/whatever instead of simmering in discontent against our own useless leadership. We can all unite against Those Guys, and forget about how we're getting fucked over by our own government at home.
"Plus, war is a great excuse for government power grabs, which both sides love. Our last endless war is old and tired, and they wrung all the power grabs out of that they could. They can read your mail and tap your phones plus as an added bonus, all those nifty tools meant to be against terrorists can be conveniently be weaponized against your political opponents and you never even get held accountable for it. What politician could resist that?
"Hell, they're using one stupid act of civil disobedience that did 1/100th the damage of any given Saturday night in Portland to justify their allies in Big Tech exerting Orwellian control over social media. Just imagine what they could accomplish with something actually destructive?
"So war is a no brainer.
"Place your bets, who is Kamala Harris going to invade? (because frankly, after listening to his last speech, if Joe Biden outlasts William Henry Harrison I'll be impressed)
"If you say China, I'm gonna laugh at you. There's zero danger of that for the next four years.
"Say what you will about Trump, love him or hate him, but these were the first debates in 20 years where war wasn't the focus. Hell, I don't think they mentioned war at all. But the establishment loves endless confusing war with nebulous goals and no way out. Democrats act like they hate war, but they LOVE war when they are in charge (they just hate the guys they make go fight it, totally different). Barack Obama still holds the record for drone strikes made by a Nobel Peace Prize Winner. But Kamala is sure to get the peace prize too (for existing) and she strikes me as ambitious!
"My money is on Syria, and I'll say it'll kick off August 2021 (September is the end of the fiscal year so it'll work out well for budgeting). Syria is a complicated and confusing situation most Americans don't understand, convenient bad guys, and plenty of video of refugees to tug at the heart strings, so it's perfect.
"But then again, they might mix it up and surprise me. It's been a long time since we've invaded anything in South or Central America. I doubt it will be anything in east Asia, because we will fully cede that sphere of influence to the PRC.
"Of course, many of you will probably predict that the most likely war will by us vs. us. However our political elites don't actually want that, because they need us to keep paying taxes to pay for the interest on all those gender studies in Pakistan.
"I figure the only way we don't invade somebody, is if we're too busy invading ourselves. Otherwise, look out some little 3rd world nation. You're about to get occupied for twenty years."

To which Michael adds, "A thought on the Michael Yon interview: We might need to use that tradecraft against them, just like the Hong Kong freedom protesters they copy from. The bit about changing clothes but not shoes? Shoes for Crews makes a slip resistant overshoe called CrewGuard. No doubt other companies make something similar. Picture going to a rally or protest where you might have to break contact/surveillance afterward. You have to change clothes or have reversible clothing to change your appearance and you wear light colored shoes with a pair of the CrewGuards in your pocket. When you make the clothing change you also pull on the CrewGuards and change your light shoes into black shoes. Also being slip resistant might be important for your get away. The 'Stretch' version looks easier to get on in a hurry, the steel toes might be the better choice if you foresee fighting while breaking contact."

"So where did Trump really screw up?
"I am reminded of something Bill Buckley once wrote, 'I would rather be governed by the first 2000 people in the Boston telephone directory than by the 2000 people on the faculty of Harvard University.' Just keep that in the back of your mind for the nonce.
"Trump’s not an eloquent man. That’s not the problem, although it does tend to explain some of his addiction to Twitter, where no one is eloquent. He’s said some stupid things, here and there, which have cost him some support he could and should have had. But then weigh those factors against some of his undoubted successes.
"We have had a gangbuster economy for four years. Even COVID and lockdowns couldn’t kill it. We are energy independent, as much as we care to be, and have been for about two years. Do you imagine the eco-nazis near and at the core of the Democratic Party are going to let that continue? (If so, I have this bridge…) We haven’t opened any new campaigns in either the unwinnable, because we refuse to win it, war against radical Islam nor any more silly-assed interventions on behalf of the goodfeelz of ICOTESCAS, the International Community Of The Ever So Caring And Sensitive.
"Illegal immigration has near enough stopped. No, he didn’t get a wall built from sea to shining sea, but he got enough of it built and, as he promised, he got Mexico to pay for a more effective wall…right on their southern border. And the Mexican La Migra, boys and girls, does not fuck around.
"His trade rep, Robert Lighthizer, has browbeaten the rest of the world, such of it as matters, into submission. NAFTA is effectively dead, replaced by the more favorable USMCA.
"In short, he did what he promised to do, or as much of it as political realities allowed, and then some.
"I know a lot of people – some of them close friends – don’t want to see any good or any effectiveness in Trump, largely over any number of the dumb things he’s said, but I’ll ask them to consider just how cogent and eloquent they would be, in Washington, not just friendless but with everyone but your wife and kids turning on you like rabid dogs, where your every word, movement, everything becomes fodder for what is perhaps the most concentrated and concerted efforts at libel and slander ever launched at an American political figure. Sure, terrible things were said and made up about Jefferson and Jackson, Adams, Lincoln, and many others. But it wasn’t from everyone, nor all the time.
"I don’t think Trump ever understood, going into this, that he would be quite so alone and abandoned as he was going to be.
"And that leads us to the one consistent, horrible, repetitive failing of which Trump truly is guilty; he has perhaps the worst record of anyone but the early Lincoln for picking shithead subordinates, incompetent, unreliable, arrogant, stupid, cowardly, ungrateful, entitled, and treacherous.
"Why is that? Well, one thing stands out; again and again Trump went with establishment figures who were – generally quite mildly – seen as something other than pure mainstream. Well…if they weren’t quite mainstream establishment, they were STILL establishment. So of course they turned on him; he was attacking their establishment.
"Now go back to that second paragraph, above, the quote from Bill Buckley. You see, Trump did have friends, tens of millions of them. They were the common people, the workers, the natural allies of a revolutionary executive against the aristocratic robber barons, plutocrats, and their running dogs in the establishment.
"And that was Trump’s huge mistake; he kept going to those 2000 names of the Harvard faculty…or Yale…or Columbia…or Annapolis…or West Point, when those should have been bars to even slight consideration for his cabinet. Instead, here’s Buckley, again, he should have been looking for the 2000 common folk of talent. No, not me; I want nothing to do with DC. Others.

    The World Sucks

A reader sends, "Found in a comment section:"
'I think Trump genuinely meant well. I think he wasn't playing four-dimensional chess, or anything like that. He just had good instincts for people and politics and the courage to say what he, and what almost the entire country--I distinguish between the nation and foreign colonists who should never have been permitted to set foot within our borders in the first place--have been thinking for about fifty years now.
'But that wasn't enough. He was in over his head from the start. The coup against him began before he even took the oath of office. Staffers and bureau heads put in place by Obama and the Clintons would hear his orders, say "yes sir," then hang up, laugh, and throw his letters in the trash, then go on Facebook and Twitter to boast and gloat about it, with their real names attached, #resist, #downwithdrumpf, #blacklivesmatter, #westandwithantifa. And he'd replace a few department heads--with other people who would do all the exact same things. Lather, rinse, repeat, for four years. He responded to an open and public conspiracy of lawfare, sedition, and treason, not by declaring martial law and holding military tribunals, but by complaining about the unfairness of it all on Twitter. All far too little, all far too late.
'Worse, he tried to rouse the worthless Republican Party to get up off their worthless asses and do something for the people who voted for them, which, as it turns out, was a fool's errand. They like being controlled opposition. They like it when the voters expect absolutely nothing from them. They like getting the votes by default of everyone except hoodrats on welfare, illegal foreign invaders and colonizers, a couple dozen soyboys with matching man-buns, pink pussy hats, and Tumblr accounts, and the town tranny and the town pederast, who are usually the same person, without having to do anything to earn them. They hate uppity populists who rock the boat far more than they hate the people who want to destroy the Constitution and turn this country the rest of the way into a Third World failed state, and they hold the voters in contempt. They think they're going to be able to retire as billionaires if they "manage the decline" and don't rock the boat.
'Worse than that, too many "conservative" Republicans are getting billions from keeping everything the way it is. Those Wal-Marts full of Mexicans and Arabs and Indians waving their "stimulus" checks and food stamps in the air to buy cheap plastic trinkets made by laogai political prisoner slave labor in China are making too many powerful people rich, and those are the people your "conservative Republican culture warrior" Senator answers to, not you. "It's a big club, and you ain't in it," said a fellow named Carlin back in the last century. And you can't expect anyone to enforce the actual laws about importing goods made by slave labor, or keeping out illegal aliens, or punishing those who hire them, much less expelling foreign spies. Too many people are making too much money turning America into Brazil, and that's even before we talk about the $billions of our own money Chinese military intelligence is spreading around in the US. That is the banksters' "rice bowl," and your Senator is their bought-and-paid-for errand boy and attack dog. That's what happens when upstarts try to threaten the "rice bowl" of the people who really matter.
'How many times did BLM/Antifa mobs storm the floor of Congress while it was in session in the past four years, and state legislatures across the country, in the past four years, again? And how many of them got shot for it? How many of them got put on the "no fly list?" How many were even charged with anything? They're not threatening anybody's "rice bowl" when they try to blow up Border Patrol facilities or shoot Congressmen.
'Contrast Congress's bored reaction to the shooting of Steve Scalise three years ago, by the way, to the pearl-clutching and hand-wringing they're doing now about an orderly, lawful, non-violent protest by the people they supposedly work for on the 6th of January. Eye-opening, isn't it? I wonder what will happen when Left realizes that they've just legitimized political violence and proven that there are no consequences if you are on the winning side.
'Trump was just one man, I think, who wanted to do the right thing. He's a boomer and a civnat who doesn't grasp that the nation he was raised to revere was murdered in a back alley a long, long time ago. He doesn't grasp that a gaggle of Leftist nonentities, one standing on another's shoulders like the 20th Century cartoon gag about kids standing on one another's shoulders to wear a trenchcoat and pretend to be a adult, have been wearing America's skin as a suit for a long, long time, and it's natural to want to ignore the flies buzzing in and out of the eye sockets of the Uncle Sam costume and the trail of maggots it leaves behind, wriggling around on the floor. He isn't stupid but I think he genuinely doesn't want to understand. No Boomer could ever have had the resolve to tear it all down, and nothing less than that would make any difference. He was out of his depth from day one. He didn't know how deep the Swamp was or how venomous its denizens were. He did manage to get the Deep State, the Obama shadow government, and the puppets of China and Iran, to reveal their existence and true nature to all the world, and that may be his place in history.
'The rumors still fly around the Internet that he is about to declare martial law and declare the election null and void. It's been over two months since the grotesque farce of a sham election and he's done nothing that I can see, other than appeal in vain to courts full of Obama appointed judges who laugh in his face and beg in vain for the aid of "conservative" politicians elected on his coattails, who'd rather have China Joe in power so long as they get to keep their rice bowls, the will of the people and the law of the land be damned.
'As I write this, the last few days are ticking down before China Joe gets installed in the White House. I don't know what Trump is thinking. The Democrats have sworn to imprison him and his entire family the instant China Joe is sworn in on charges that the far-Left New York Times would be screaming to the world in 72 point type if any of it existed outside the fevered imaginations of Nancy Pelosi and her fan section of illegals, hoodrats, imported IT coolies, and pink-haired Tumblr soyboys.
'Mind you, this is no obstacle at all to their plan to imprison him and everyone who supported him, donated money to him, or, if they can manage it, voted for him, even if they must charge three quarters of the living population of the nation with assassinating President McKinley and sinking the Lusitania in order to justify the Stalin-style show-trials they are already gleefully planning.
'He's in the same position Gaius Julius Caesar was in when he was the Republic's Governor of Cisalpine Gaul, when his enemies in the Senate ordered him to disband his army and return to Rome for trial. Caesar knew exactly what they were doing, and his troops were loyal, so he went back with an army to drain the Roman swamp--and seemed to succeed, for about six years, and was beloved by the people and even spared his enemies' lives. Everything was wonderful right up until the same "Optimates," the Roman aristocrats who had plotted against him six years before, whose lives he had spared, to whom he had granted pardon, showed their gratitude by hacking him to death with knives in the street just outside the entrance of the Senate. That's what happens to upstarts who mess with the established aristocracy's rice bowls, I guess. The genuine love and support of the people is as nothing compared to the knife in the back from politicians who are only in power because of him.
'Maybe Trump, in the few days left, will declare martial law and drain the Swamp. Maybe the Swamp will make a martyr of him, as it has already made a martyr of Ashli Babbitt. If they do, this is likely to set off another civil war in the US, just as Caesar's assassination caused an uprising of Roman commoners against the aristocrats, which brought about fourteen years of civil war, ending with the ascent of Caesar's grandnephew Octavian as Emperor and the end of the Republic. We should be as lucky as the Romans were. Trump, like Caesar, rocked the boat. Both paid the price. I wonder if the next populist leader to emerge on the Right will sink the boat instead.'

A decade or more ago, when I was formulating the Constitution for my fictional future republic, a fictional future historian observed, “Toward the end, in the United States, there arose the notion of the Constitution as a 'living document' that could be altered or suspended by majority vote or, later, by executive order. Happily this is not the case in the Jeffersonian Republic, but if we wish it to remain so we must learn from the bloody blunders of our ancestors. We must learn that the Constitution is not a buffet table from which one can pick and choose what one likes and ignore the rest. We must forever remember that the Constitution is the rules. We must never forget that changing, or trying to change, the rules of a free society will get a lot of people killed.” Michael G. now sends:

And if you look closely you may note I removed the general welfare clause, and the commerce clause, and added several more links to Jefferson's chains.

Foreign Correspondent Jacob N., Trapped in New York, sends "What a surprise: Now that they are in power, Democrats aren’t so hot on direct 'stimulus' checks, because they aren’t filtered through government bureaucracy." But tell me again how Democrats are the party for the working people.

Michael G. sends even more Danegeld, at Columbia University this time.

Followed by institutional racism at U of Wisconsin.

Then, "Tulane students have learned well from the govt.: Using ChiGov virus to demand things that have nothing to do with ChiGov virus."

"It’s sort of an Al Sharpton shakedown, but with science fiction."

    Which is institutional racism.

    Escalating to violence.

And the next stop is this...

    ...and this.

'For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"'
    Project Gunwalker
    • In demographic warfare news, Michael G. sends, "Oft evil will shall evil mar: Biden's executive order to count illegals will give Texas GOP more congressional seats. Still very bad long term, if they have any brains they will use their gains to try to reverse and repair the damage."
    • Followed naturally by, "As Biden Opens Borders, Cartel War Leaves 19 Torched Bodies In Mexican Border Town."
    • With, "The best Colorado senator non-Colorado money can buy."

Though as always Codrea has perspective.

To which dot Michael G. connects turnabout, also long overdue.

In my fictional future history, and of course in many other works for generations, supermaterials are a science-fiction trope, like Star Trek's transparent aluminum or my own armorglas, or a cermet compound capable of holding a molecular-width cutting edge when formed into a blade. Michael G. sends "Making harder metals by fusing them from nanoparticles. The article doesn't say this, but wouldn't the process described lend itself to 3D printing? In other words, fabbers?" Which is very much the kind of technology I am presuming to exist by the time of my story.
