RIFLEMAN'S JOURNAL - MARCH 2016
The World Sucks
Blood Libel o' the Day. I've known 12-year-olds I would trust behind me with live grenades, and 40-year-olds I wouldn't trust in front of me with a plastic spork. By which I mean, from comments: "Used to live in a place that had 8 or 9 recreational matches (mostly pistol, but also 3 gun and cowboy shooting) that frequently saw young participants. Honestly, they were safer gun handlers than most of the police officers I saw as assistant range master for 15 years at the local PD."
Col. Kratman's latest column continues examining conscription.
Burn the colleges....
In the Republican debates, someone's lying and it's not Ted Cruz.
Billions of American taxtheftbucks for electricity in Africa, but we don't even try to stop plague-carrying immigrants and/or jihadists streaming through our southern border. "Maybe it would be efficacious for off-grid Africans to avoid building an expensive and vulnerable grid entirely and go straight to small-scale, non-centralized power generation." Yeah, maybe it would.
"He did not mention that alleged Kansas gunman Cedric Ford was a felon who was completely barred from purchasing guns or possessing them. Ford faced 100 percent gun control." And how is that my fault?
While in the place where Britain used to be, the government is still persecuting a man who defended his life and home from criminals and even airguns now require a government bureaucrat bigot's license.
I've covered this before, but the Humane Society are not just anti-hunting, anti-self-defense bigots, they're also crooks and frauds.
THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING IT UP
In Lighter News
Constitutional Carry in West Virginia is almost there whether the rape-enabling anti-self-defense governor likes it or not.
Getting uppity in Texas.
Speaking of uppity.
Here is a photo of the first ever Barrett Model 82 rifle.
Yeah that's probably gonna keep

Constitutional Carry action in Kentucky.
Also in Idaho, though with the threat of RINO backstabbing. -And why am I one of only 29 subscribers to their channel and there are only three views as I type this?
Remember, peasant, private citizens using their own firearms to defend themselves and prevent crime is a fantasy that never happens.
Science-fiction age reversal. Working on it. Now wouldn't that be a helluva Mother's Day gift, turning her clock back to 21?
"...[W]hat will you do if the worst possible scenario plays out and an anti-gun court, within your lifetime, reverses Heller and more? What will you do if Dianne Feinstein's 'Turn 'em all in, Mr. and Mrs. America' fantasy becomes a court-sanctioned 'legal' reality?
"...[T]he confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers." Which reminds me, there's a whole bunch of new parking meters going up in my work area. Because rob the peasants at implied government gunpoint, that's why.

I used to think of myself as a pretty tolerant guy. But after the last seven years, when I see a black person, I see a violent would-be-genocidal racist who hates me because of the color of my skin and wants to steal everything I've worked for.
RINO backstabbing in South Dakota.
Speaking of which, "We gave you a majority in both houses of Congress and you put up 'leadership' that folds better than a good accordion. You haven't STOPPED crap. You make the republican party the other side of the 'business as usual' Washington, complete with MORE taxes and MORE regulations and MORE spending and you want America to get on your boat with your next 'Chosen One'. And when the PEOPLE hosed Jeb Bush, you trot Rubio to the front of the line and we're supposed to buy that?"
Aaaaand Blood Libel, Chapter MMMMDCXLI.
"...[T]he 'iron pipeline' that pumps out-of-state guns into New York." What about the states those guns come from? If guns cause crime, if eee-vill gun rays cast magical dominion over the souls of "nice boys" who were "just getting their lives turned around", why is there so much less crime in the places the guns come from and where they are far more easily available?
ENEMY ATTACK BEATEN BACK IN OCCUPIED OREGON. But this ship-of-state is sinking and I need to abandon it before it drags me down with it.
Continuing uppityness in Idaho. We've tried it our way and it does work.

Back here I wondered "how many of these tobacco prohibitionists enjoy a little marijuana now and then, with all the DOOR-KICKING, PUPPY-SHOOTING, GRANDMOTHER-ELECTROCUTING, TODDLER-ZIP-TYING, THROWING-GRENADES-AT-BABIES prohibition that entails" and there they are.

Continuing RINO backstabbing in Florida.
Idaho's Constitutional Carry effort gets gut-n-stuffed. By a secret committee.
They keep trying it their way and it's still not working.
As expected, West Virginia's Democrat governor Earl Ray Tomblin vetoes Constitutional Carry despite strong support from the legislature, who are poised to ram it down his rape-enabling throat anyway. "Tomblin was flanked by 'dozens of police officers and deputies,' there to provide PR support and imagery intended to 'legitimize' the governor's flouting of 'shall not be infringed.'" Think about the kind of people who want you to beg their permission to defend yourself.
People like these:
Georgia governor Nathan Deal actually shows a bit of spine in favor of campus carry. That is a rare thing for a Republican. "Deal said opponents of being armed for self-defense suggested the 2014 law expanding concealed carry would lead to 'a Wild West scenario' that never materialized, yet they are making the same predictions now that campus carry has momentum. He said the fact that the arguments have been heard before and proven inaccurate is sufficient reason to reject them now that they are being used to try to keep college students defenseless."
Meanwhile in inmates-running-the-asylum California, unelected bureaucrats declare aloe vera a carcinogen. "Beyond package labels and chemical lists, new proposed regulations seek to further specify even the acceptable font size for Prop 65 warning signs.... The average small business coffee shop owner is likely unaware that he or she may be at serious risk for a frivolous lawsuit because of a minor font size error."
80% AR lowers, both 5.56 and 7.62 families, are widely available, enabling one to create one's own unregistered eee-vill "assault" rifle. I am again reminded that 80% 1911 frames are also available. Someone out there was offering 80% 10/22 receivers too, I seem to recall. That's three of the most successful and popular firearm designs of all time that the government doesn't know you have. ...Unless you're stupid enough to buy them online with a bank card of course. Most of the shows I've been going to for the last many years have the AR receivers, and drilling jigs. Kalashnikov receiver flats and bending jigs too, that's more work than the AR but they exist.
And there's always another way.
Show, chat & show every Sunday 1100 and 1700PT.
WEST VIRGINIA GETS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY (in 90 days) over an anti-self-defense bigot's dead veto. Looks like a decent version too, no state-residency requirement, though there is the age restriction which Idaho actually doesn't have outside city limits already. (So 18-20 year olds can swear the oath and wear the uniform and drive panzers and loose missiles and sign their names for million-dollar equipment but they can't be trusted to carry a pistol for a trip to the store and back?) That makes seven and a half, counting Vermont, Alaska, Wyoming (which should maybe count for less than one, with its state-residency requirement), Arizona, Kansas, Maine, and still arguing over Arkansas last I heard. With ongoing efforts in several other states. DON'T NEED YOUR F***ING PERMISSION.
Germany's national suicide continues....
Quislings at the gun show....
"Two men were shot in a Brooklyn Center [Minnesota] shopping area parking lot Saturday after an apparent argument over a new pair of Air Jordan basketball shoes" and how is that my fault? F***ing shoes probably cost more than the last two paychecks I didn't earn while my car was broken down and how could they afford it?
I've said before, it is not jobholding, taxpaying, Republican, white, NRA members shooting all those people in Chicago and Baltimore and Detroit and LA and DC and how does that make me "racist"?

There is one of these stores conveniently located in my work area. "We do not accept EBT cards." Meaning Certain Kinds of People are unlikely to be encountered there. I'm'a hafta check that out.
Back here I put down The Expanse as yet another soft-science cop-show-in-space, but then Howard Tayler gave it a good review so I decided to try choking down the whole first episode. And I was wrong. The cop is corporate, not government, the science is harder than it looked at first, and I'll have to watch the rest of the series now.

George Orwell's novel 1984 had a totalitarian government changing the very language people spoke and thought to alter their perceived reality. That could never happen here... RIGHT?

Meanwhile at college, there are people sick enough to really believe that self-defense causes rape.

Codrea contemplates the militia the Founders wanted us to have and which has pretty much never actually existed. This is a thing I have also pondered.
Way back in November 2012 one of the CEOs of the Wounded Warrior Project got on the Gun Talk radio show and proved to be anti-gun. Comes now word that, like the Humane Society, they're also crooks and frauds.
Speaking also of crooks and frauds, you know that DMV/USPS/XYZWTFBBQ stereotype of lazy government employees who never actually do their jobs? It became a stereotype because it's true.
Yet another FAKE hate crime on campus. Next time you hear the "tolerant", "inclusive" crowd accusing someone of being racist or [insert identity politics here]-phobic, presume they're lying and fabricating evidence.
Back here I pondered, "You ever notice how the man-hating feminazis who call us sexist are so often the same people calling us Islamophobic?" Yeah. Like that.

Government bureaucrats want to register and restrict my guns but they can't keep track of their own GUIDED ANTI-TANK MISSILES?
Speaking of government bureaucrats, "The Environmental Protection Agency intentionally opened up the abandoned mine, which unleashed 3 million gallons of toxic waste into nearby rivers that residents of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and the Navajo Nation depend upon for drinking water."
"...[D]ispute over whether political influence was brought to bear on intelligence analysts whose job is to objectively assess the strength of ISIS and the effects of the U.S.-led efforts to destroy the group." Col. Kratman's latest column examines "feminism". ...The next time some man-hating feminazi calls me "sexist" I just might nail her into a crate and ship her to Kurdistan.
As always, don't forget the footnotes and comments. A long time ago I made a certain bumper sticker, in support of which: "While the second shipment of invaders were waiting, the invaders killed a 12-year-old girl and hung her flesh on posts. They proceeded to enslave some Moriori and kill and cannibalise others."
Remember, peasant, private citizens using concealed firearms to save innocent lives is a fantasy that never happens. "When mass shootings do occur, they tend to be in places with greater gun restrictions...."

Among the freedomista community, one way to get excused from jury duty is to mention jury nullification. Something interesting happening in New Hampshire.
By which I also mean, the Malheur standoff was over federal land ownership and federal abuse of private landowners. This almost belongs in Lighter News because Texas could secede again. And if they do I'll go there.
Mentally-ill phobia-ridden bigots call us nuts. Don't say I didn't warn you.
"You got the nerve to act the fool when somebody cares about you? You're talking when I'm talking. Do you know that if I go to a Jewish school, those kids are quiet. Gun-Free Zone. And how is that my fault?
Pay the new tax or be punished. Oh hey you CAN'T because the bungling tax-eating bureaucrats are OUT OF FORMS.
Speaking of punishment, in California, Jews who forget to register with the Gauleiter and wear their Yellow Badges can be prosecuted under the same standards as murderOH. WAIT.
Gun registration schemes in Minnesota and Maine. There is no "background check" without registration and the only reason to register is to later confiscate.
Registration does lead to confiscation.
A major trope in science fiction is regeneration, growing replacement body parts to repair severe injuries. The notion goes back at least as far as the Prophet Heinlein (a case could be made for one volume of Burroughs' Barsoom series) and I use it myself. THAT IS BEING WORKED ON.

My screen name is Jeffersonian. My fictional utopia is called the Jeffersonian Republic. Remember, peasant, the Democrats will save us from CRONY "CAPITALISM".
Remember, peasant, unaccountable government bureaucrats will make your "health" "care" better and more affordable.
Listening to the Armed American Radio daily show, which I don't usually remember to do, talking about campus carry in Georgia, carving out prohibitions for this kind of place and that kind of place and day care centers. How long until some "immigrant" goes Sudden Jihad Syndrome in a day care center? Where everyone else is prohibited by "law" from stopping him? AND HOW WILL THAT BE MY FAULT?
It's not "paranoia" or "____phobic" or "racist" if THEY REALLY ARE SAYING OUT LOUD THAT THEY WANT US ALL MURDERED.
BUT THEY CALL US "RACIST".
Constitutional Carry advances in Idaho.
Sigh, The Road to Hell suffers from the infamous Weber clutter. Also it's been several years since I read the previous two volumes and the characters and settings are no longer familiar. Like his Safehold and War Gods series, I'm giving up on it. Next will be a new Vorkosigan from Bujold, Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen. Also I have an eARC of Ringo & co.'s Black Tide Rising, a franchise collection set in his zombie-apocalypse series.

AND AS IF ON CUE
Tell me again how "liberals" are "champions of free speech".
Tell me again how they're "tolerant" and "inclusive". And that's the kind of people who don't want you able to defend yourself.
Some time ago I wrote about the final battle between my fictional Republic and the evil Terran Empire, wherein one of the Imperial warships was named after "the last Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America and reviled in the same breath as Benedict Arnold and Barack Hussein Obama." Seems I got the name wrong.
Which segues to "Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
We've tried it their way, they admit it doesn't work, but they insist on doing it harder AND THEY CALL US "NUTS".
Idaho's Constitutional Carry is almost there. I am given to understand it's imperfect but it would by definition be a huge improvement over begging some bureaucrat bigot's permission and paying some hired thug some extortionate fee to exercise a natural human right.
Speaking of taxtheft, I keep telling you government "health" "care" is about neither health nor care.
Immigrants. Contributing. To Society. In a "Gun-Free Zone".
Speaking of immigrants, don't you "tolerant", "inclusive" "liberals" just hate it when the "poor", "underprivileged" "refugees" you invite through open borders turn out to be the predatory rape gangs you always slander us as being?
A reason to vote for Trump. You want a race war? We're better shots. All we ever wanted was to be left alone.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD COP.
THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME TO ME.
When I say FABBERS will CHANGE the WORLD this is the kind of thing I mean. What is this for? Vastly improved efficiency in electric motors? Improved read-write speeds on conventional hard drives? A breakthrough in SSD (solid-state-drive) technology? A new level of detail in medical or scientific imaging? Railgun pistols? Magnetic containment for fusion power, decades after it was imagined? We don't even know yet.
Mike Vanderboegh, a true champion of the Cause, still needs help.
So the Department of Veterans Affairs gives big taxtheft-funded bonuses to bureaucrat bigots who let veterans die, while millions of illegal immigrants who won't work for a living get "free" healthcare paid for with those same taxes on all of us. Does that seem right to you?
Speaking of veterans, remember, peasant, Obama will end the wars and bring the troops home.
Hey, remember when the Internet was a bastion of free speech?
I mean it's not like the founder and chief executive of Facebook is shmoozing with the propaganda chief of communist China or anything.
And yes you really can see communism from space.
Jizya is a tax forced on non-Muslims living in Islamic nations. That could never happen here... RIGHT?
Remember when Elian Gonzales was taken away from his American family at government gunpoint and sent to be brainwashed in the communist dictatorship of Cuba? That sort of thing could never happen again... RIGHT?
This is how the world used to be and there were no school shootings. How do the anti-self-defense bigots explain that?
MidwestReader sends range report:
"I had been thinking for a time of a .380 small enough for pocket carry and so got a good deal, compared to Gunbroker or MSRP anyway, on a Kahr CT380, 'special edition tungsten finish.' The slide is refinished in a sort of dark silvery grey Cerakote, which I'm not sure if I like, but it came with two mags instead of the usual one for Kahr products. I got it for $329 and tax. It came with a coupon for a Kydex holster and mag carrier (two separate pieces, not one that holds both) that Kahr sells, that I may look into.
"And I took it to a local range this morning, which was surprisingly less busy than I anticipated due possibly to sunny spring-ish weather today, with 150 rounds of FMJ ammo of two different brands.
"I can report that the gun likes Blazer Brass a LOT more than Geco. With the former it runs like a sewing machine, with the latter I can't get through a magazine without at least two stoppages of some kind, usually a bolt-over-base malfunction, a failure-to-eject, or a short cycle in which the slide comes back just far enough to extract and eject the case but not far enough for the breechface to catch on the case rim and feed another round into the chamber, resulting in the ejected case either going straight up and straight back down (most are ejected fairly forcefully to the one o'clock position) or coming straight back and hitting me in the face, followed by a 'click' instead of 'bang.' Switching back to Blazer Brass cures this instantly. I think I feel slightly less recoil with the Geco but that's subjective.
"This thread at Glocktalk, while not specific to the Kahr, offers a clue about what may be happening.
"At least with their .380 production line, Dynamit Nobel/Geco seems to be having some QC problems, as evidenced by very low, very irregular velocities. I think they don't have enough punch to cycle the slide the way it's supposed to. I remember Geco 9mm ammo in a blue and black box from the 90s, which was great stuff, but this doesn't seem to be as good.
"Anyway. I will be trying more types of .380 ammo. I may try some Prvi Partizan next, as it is inexpensive and they sell a jacketed hollowpoint in this caliber that from tests I see online does not expand at all, which may be on balance a benefit in this caliber; the truncated cone design has a wide flat point and may tear a bit more tissue than roundnose ball, and since it does have soft lead up front and a notched jacket, who knows? If it struck a bone just so, it might even deform a little bit on the way through. Maybe.
"I notice that hollowpoint bullets in this caliber either fail to expand at all or expand prettily but their penetration stops at only 8" or so, well short of the 12" the FBI has for so many years told us is needed. The exceptions seem to be the 90gr Hornady XTP hollowpoint, loaded by various ammunition manufacturers, and the 90gr Federal Hydra-Shok. Neither of them is 100% consistent with reaching 12" but they seem to be the best available. The Speer 90gr Gold Dot doesn't seem to reach 12" consistently in most tests, especially in test results published after 2010 or so. What remains is semi-exotic stuff like the .380 version of Charles Kelsey's old 'Devel' bullet, now manufactured and sold by Lehigh Defense in solid copper.
"The Flying Phillips Screwdriver of Doom, as I call it, seems to focus hydrostatic shock with those machined flutes and tear a slightly larger hole, at least in ballistic gelatin, than we can get with ball, without sacrificing (much) penetration. On paper it looks decent, and I note that the manufacturer can't keep it in stock. It may be, of course, that the additional damage is an artifact of the ballistic gel rather than something existing in the real world. More study is needed. Can someone perhaps shoot some feral hogs, or coyotes, or similar pest animals with them, and report on the results? But I digress.
"Other observations: the CT380 has the typical Kahr trigger, long and DAO-ish with a reset that's all the way forward. It's smooth enough, and not so bad as to be distracting, though like the CW9 the CT380 is unforgiving of poor trigger control. Get in a hurry and yank the trigger and the point of impact drops a foot and shifts 4" to the left at just seven yards, so practice, practice, practice.
"Though the pistol is very narrow in the hand, and the frame itself very slim, recoil is not severe. A steel framed PPK kicks harder despite weighing a lot more, which can probably be attributed to the PPK's straight blowback operation.
"Sights are well above-average for a pocket pistol. I prefer a three-dot pattern for low-light visibility but can live with the bar-and-dot 'von Stavenhagen' pattern that you also see on so many SIG pistols from the 80s and 90s.
"The gun is significantly lighter, smaller, and thinner than a Walther PPK in .380 yet holds one more round, 7+1 to the PPK's 6+1 in .380. The mag tube is long enough that I think it might accept 8 rounds with a redesigned follower, but I'm sure the people who designed it noticed that too and kept it at 7+1 for a reason, maybe having to do with reliability.
"The pistol is very tightly fitted from the factory and requires a tool of some kind to press out the slide stop the first few times it's disassembled. The pistol also incorporates a dual recoil spring that is surprisingly stout, and tricky to get back into place just so when trying to reinstall the recoil spring guide and reassemble. I don't have trouble racking the gun or locking back the slide but I can certainly see where some people might.
"I noticed on both brands of fired cases the same teardrop shaped firing pin imprint as I saw with the CW9, indicating that the slide is opening far enough for the breech end of the barrel to drop significantly before the firing pin can retract all the way, so I suppose even with the low-pressure .380 cartridge it NEEDS that stout recoil spring setup.
"All in all I think the gun acquitted itself well--with ammunition it liked--and was easy to shoot well. On an IDPA practice target at seven yards with 150 rounds I made a palm-sized ragged hole in the center of the 0/0 center mass ring, with more holes than I'd have liked scattered around it, though as I said I'm out of practice. With the last seven rounds I was able to manage seven hits to the head-shot box with seven fast shots--which is probably the best bullet placement for this caliber."
I'm reminded again of a Good Story, The Humans Call it Duty by Michael Z. Williamson, set in his Freehold of Grainne universe. Go read it.
But they call us "liars".
And they accuse us of "censorship".
Col. Kratman's latest column examines the border. Don't forget the footnotes and comments, wherein even Wikipedia is forced to admit that Israel's wall is working. My fictional utopia is both more and less secure - effectively an island nation, yet also rather libertarian as far as coming and going is concerned. During my fictional cold war there were no "foreign" starships and therefore no way for any immigration to be undocumented. My solution is to require service for citizenship, which Kratman has examined in some depth in recent columns, including cultural and linguistic assimilation, and also to cut off the tax-eaters before they even arrive. Our problem here and now is we're attracting and rewarding them.
Tell me again how
Which reminds me, a little while ago, one of the musicians at the November Paris attacks accused security of staying away as though they knew the attack was coming. To which dot connect just the other day I linked "Some of these Islamists... have infiltrated all levels of society, starting with the police and the armed forces."
Surprisingly, a little ground regained in Occupied Massachusetts. But that's not the way to bet. Think about the kind of perverted monsters who don't want you ABLE to defend yourself IN ANY WAY. Elsewhere: "Electronic stun guns are no more exempt from the Second Amendment's protections, simply because they were unknown to the First Congress, than electronic communications are exempt from the First Amendment, or electronic imaging devices are exempt from the Fourth Amendment." The precedent and implications are ginormous.
A little spark in Occupied Colorado as well. Child porn "found" on "his" computer in 3, 2, 1 because it's better to have dead children than allow them to be saved with guuuunnnnzz.
I go to gun shows one or two times a month, much to the detriment of my finances. One thing that constantly upsets me is how many of the people there don't use the Internet.
Just a reminder that grenade launchers are not a new idea.
Speaking of weapons, blogbrother SMLE Fan contemplates the US military handgun selection process.
Likewise, Constitutional Carry in Idaho needs another push.
Less Guns, More Crime. Think about the kind of sick perverts who want us to be just like them.
"Green" "Energy" MY ASS and your taxes.
I ask again, what if it's not a paranoid conspiracy theory?
So once again MUSLIM terrorists murder innocent people (who are prohibited by their illegitimate governments from defending themselves...). Over on this side of the pond, an ISIS sympathizer makes bomb threats and doesn't even lose his taxi license, while our illegitimate government INVITES TENS OF THOUSANDS MORE JUST LIKE HIM. "Tolerant" and "inclusive" ISN'T WORKING.
BUT THEY STILL REALLY BELIEVE IT'S ALL, SOMEHOW, MY FAULT.
To which dot also connect "A vet can't get a damned appointment, vets DIE waiting to be seen, but the VA and the union make sure thieves and robbers and molesters don't have to worry about their jobs."
And the EBT-swiping Obama-voters put Bernie stickers on their late-model Mercedes and blame white heterosexual males, Christians, and the NRA....
These would be the same "Junior Fascists on campus have gone crying to the university, demanding that political opinions they don't agree with be banned." But they accuse us of "censorship". ...Scroll up for the last installment of The Jeffersonian and SMLE Fan Skype Show. It might be worth voting for Trump just to watch these preciouslittlesnowflakes' heads explode. I mean if we-the-Makers and they-the-Takers are going to have a bloodycivilwar anyway....
And the Senior Fascists too. But they call us "nuts".
And these sociopathic monsters are shocked when their victims finally start shooting back.
All y'all oughta know the Beretta M92/M9 is mechanically identical to the Walther P.38. I didn't know the P.38 was not the first use of the wedge-lock system.
To which compare another thing I had never heard of.
New parking meters going in
throughout my work area,
where they never were before.
Because bleed the peasants dry, that's why.
"needs" a new SUV.
Tell me again how I'm not paying "my" "fair" "share".
This directly impacts the efficiency
and cost of my work,
reducing my net income,
and reinforces my desire
to get the hell out of this horrible place
before it murders me.
Everywhere I go I feel
another click of the ratchet.
Everywhere I look I see
another light going out.
"The worst thing about living
in the declining era
of a great civilization...
is knowing that you are."
- Robert A. Heinlein
Idaho's Constitutional Carry is almost there. Because people WORKED on it. But it's still not there yet. What have YOU done for the Cause?
And the GOP is doing what for us?
YEAH WHAT SHE SAID
"FREE" "HEALTH" "CARE"! WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA! WE WARNED YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND YOU CALLED US "RACIST".
Don't Go to College, where free speech and due process go to die and the "teachers" are demonstrably violently insane.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"SHUT UP AND PAY, PEASANTS.
On the other end of the free-speech equation, Why I Don't Go to Movie Theaters Anymore and Get DVDs From the Library Instead, Chapter MMMMDCLXII.
SPEAKING, SO TO SPEAK, OF FREE SPEECH. "PROTECT AND SERVE" WHO?
"And yet... if Muslims actually were concertedly working to take over Europe, what exactly would they do different than what's going on right now?"
No, seriously, why are we importing terrorism? AND PROPPING IT UP WITH OUR TAXES?
BlogBrother SMLE Fan can haz a kitteh.
Because we're all so "tolerant" and "inclusive"!
They all look the same to me.
Uppity in Illinois, April 6th.
YEAH WHAT HE SAID
It's not paranoia if there really is a concerted and deliberate effort to brainwash the population. Who defines?
No seriously, who defines?
George Orwell's novel 1984 was meant as a warning. IT IS INSTEAD BEING USED AS AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WE WARNED YOU AND YOU CALLED US "PARANOID".
Timely Visual Aid.
Speaking of Orwellian totalitarianism, EuroReader M. sends a bill to require identification for purchasing prepaid cellphones. Because that works so well to stop underage drinking or smoking, or straw purchases of firearms, or EBT fraud, or....
And as if on cue, universal gun registration scheme in Maine. Because such a database would NEVER be abused.
Backstabbing RINO obstructionism in Tennessee. Get in there.
In the future history of my fictional utopia I wrote "There hadn't been a Pope in Rome for at least a hundred years" and that seems increasingly plausible.
Shopkeeper stabbed to death by Christian immigrant after shopkeeper posted on Facebook about love for MuslimsOH. WAIT. Freedom of religion cannot extend to a religion that hates freedom. Tolerance of other cultures cannot extend to a culture that is completely intolerant.
IT WILL ALL COME CRASHING DOWN
IDAHO GETS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY on July 1st. Imperfect but a huge improvement over begging some bureaucrat bigot's permission and paying extortion to a hired thug at government gunpoint. That's EIGHT AND A HALF or perhaps six and three halves:
2011 Wyoming (state residency required)
2013 Arkansas (still unclear)
2016 West Virginia
2016 Idaho (state residency required)
With additional considerations in Montana, Oklahoma, and a couple other places, and ongoing efforts in more. When's the last time you heard about a mass shooting in any of those places? (Giffords in Arizona was shot by YET ANOTHER OF HER OWN FELLOW CHRISTIAN-HATING JEW-HATING BUSH-HATERS who was then STOPPED BY A CITIZEN WITH A GUN which we are endlessly assured is a fantasy that never happens.)
A science-fiction trope, backed up with an ever-increasing body of real-world evidence, is that prolonged exposure to weightlessness causes bone and muscle loss, that someone born and raised in low-weight environments will be much weaker and more fragile than normal. That is being looked into. ...By a government space agency, alas. That's the kind of thing NA$A should be doing with our taxes, instead of Muslim Outreach and lesbian interns and giant pork-breeding rockets-to-nowhere.
Speaking of science fiction, holographic communications and simulations are also being worked on.
Not good enough for a virtual date with a green-skinned alien chick yet? Don't be impatient: FABBERS will CHANGE the WORLD imagine a time when anyone can make anything without begging some bureaucrat bigot's PERMISSION. Or paying a month's wages to a corporate-licensed shop to order and install a replacement part that should only cost as much as a burger-basket. Remember this technology is still in its infancy. Who imagined, just thirty years ago, the internet-connected personal computer or wafer-thin pocket-sized smartphone you're reading this on now?
It's the Jeffersonian and SMLE Fan Skype Show!
[12:10:06 PM] SMLE Fan: so I was thinking about naming the bloodthirsty little heathen "Lord Death" in Japanese....and, since TAISP, there are many translation programs out there....unfortunately, what one gets is written out in Japanese characters, so I'm having a bit of an issue with pronounciation
[12:10:43 PM] Jeffersonian: Also there are multiple ways of writing kanji to get the same pronunciation with different meanings
[12:10:58 PM] Jeffersonian: Sounds like blogfodder
[12:11:16 PM] SMLE Fan: the three sources I looked at all seemed to be in the normal script
[12:11:29 PM] SMLE Fan: haka-whatever
[12:12:32 PM] SMLE Fan: yeah, this was a whopping five minutes of research, so I'd expect that a srs perusal of the Alimighty Internets will yield the Right Answer
[12:12:53 PM] Jeffersonian: There should maybe be a "neko" in there somewhere
[12:13:05 PM] Jeffersonian: "CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow"
[12:13:51 PM] SMLE Fan: was considering that....I can do "neko-sama" all by myself, but that lacks a certain level of exsanguination
[12:14:28 PM] Jeffersonian: neko [blood] sama?
[12:14:40 PM] SMLE Fan: something like that
[12:14:41 PM] Jeffersonian: Blood-drinker?
[12:14:48 PM] SMLE Fan: closer, much closer
[12:14:50 PM] Jeffersonian: in Nihongo
[12:14:55 PM] SMLE Fan: but of course
[12:15:37 PM] SMLE Fan: especially after this morning....he shows up after breakfast with sky-high blood sugar and proceeds to making me bleed
[12:15:56 PM] Jeffersonian: NYAR
[12:16:03 PM] SMLE Fan: while purring his little cat head off
[12:17:11 PM] SMLE Fan: and mass-wise, he's about .7 of a FloCat, so he's taken to trading blows with her
[12:17:29 PM] Jeffersonian: Hana grew up kinda mean
[12:17:38 PM] Jeffersonian: Maru's too laid-back to care
[12:17:54 PM] SMLE Fan: that's about what I'm expecting in the end
[12:18:57 PM] SMLE Fan: plus, he's gonna be doing that kitten sort of thing for at least the next year, so I think that Flo's best plan is to stay out of his approaching-warp-speed way
[12:19:36 PM] Jeffersonian: pitterpatterpitterpatterCRASH
[12:20:06 PM] SMLE Fan: [with distortion of local space-time]
[12:20:58 PM] SMLE Fan: [depending on direction, with appropriate blue/red shifting]
Speaking of blogbrother SMLE Fan, he gets his eponymous squee on.
Not unrelated, radio news, a new smartphone app to duplicate bank card functions. Think about that at the same time the FBI is demanding a universal backdoor into EVERYBODY's papers and effects while "law" enFORCEment across the continent is raking in the loot from runaway civil asset forfeiture without due process.
THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING IT UP
IT WILL ALL COME CRASHING DOWN
Historically, the venues used for the NRA National Convention have ridiculously prohibited the exercise of the natural human right to self-defense. Not this time, it seems. ...I am reminded there is a Constitutional Carry effort in Kentucky also.
What if there really is a concerted and deliberate effort to misinform everyone about everything?
TELL ME AGAIN HOW MY GUNS CAUSE TERRORISM?
People use the word "psychotic" a lot and most of them are using it wrong. A psychotic is someone who can't tell fantasy from reality. For example, the "elected" "representatives" who really believe a $15/hour minimum-wage-at-government-gunpoint will create jobs.
From chat last night: "Remember, my vote gives you the right to represent me, not to dictate to me." We're going to have to remind them.
Everything is getting worse all the time.
Not entirely unrelated, Col. Kratman's latest column continues examining the border.
"Another lefty activist loses it and starts shooting" AND HOW IS THAT MY FAULT?
For further example, projection, illustrated.
Real Space Enthusiasts Hate NA$A, Chapter MMMMDCLXVII.
Everything is getting worse all the time, but there is the occasional bright spot.
Not exactly Lighter but VALHALLA
White senator threatens to "mow down" black colleaguesOH. WAIT. But they call me "racist".
Again with the doctors. Who defines?
And the banks too.
It's not paranoia if a hackers with ties to Syria really are trying to take over our infrastructure. I think I predicted such a thing in these pages several years ago. What happens to a major city if there's even a threat to its water supply? But our "protectors" see us as the greater threat?
It seems that in Europe in 2014, FORTY THOUSAND PEOPLE FROZE TO DEATH. Tell me again how they're so much more advanced and enlightened than we are.
Not incomparably, mass starvation as official socialist-workers-paradise policy. Which we've been warning about for the last hundred-odd years. IT'S NOT LIKE IT HASN'T HAPPENED BEFORE.
Think about the kind of sick worthless perverts who don't want you able to defend yourself. I know a couple guys pushing 90 I'd like to lock him in a room with....
Steps toward, if not all the way to, Constitutional Carry in Mississippi.
Project Appleseed is still underway, still growing, and it looks like their prices have dropped a little too. If you are serious about hitting stuff with a rifle, go there. Active duty military shoots free.
The legendary Japanese Garand up for auction.
Speaking of psychotic bigots, when an Iranian nuke on a North Korean missile wipes out Haifa, the "tolerant", "inclusive" crowd will really believe it's all, somehow, the NRA's fault. And the joooos had it coming because "Palestine".
Speaking of psychotics, they don't want to know THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING IT UP
How many times have I told you the "environmental" movement is not about the environment? In their own words.
A major depopulation event is looking better all the time.
For further example, I don't want to vote for Trump but the whiny, useless, ignorant, entitled bigots I encounter throughout my daily life make me want to go buy some chalk.
I have said I must escape this horrible place before it murders me and that's not hyperbole. Sometimes I feel like the only person in this filthy town who doesn't have an EBT card. Everyone else's are filled with my taxes.
This is why police are shooting ranchers in the back, from ambush and why my escape fantasies have traded Wyoming for Kansas. (Also Kansas has a better version of Constitutional Carry.)
Remember, peasant, PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE.
Butbutbut Obaaaaama will give free health care to everyone!
He'll also lower costs while increasing availability! I remind you again that a hundred years ago, housewives could send their children to buy cocaine over the counter and there were no cartels or grenades-thrown-in-a-baby's-face-AT-THE-WRONG-ADDRESS.
Small, cheap gravimeters. To discover oil and mineral deposits for the next thousand years, and to help us choose which asteroids to mine.
