THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING IT UP
Once in a while the system works - but it's only an illusion. Once in a while the machine sacrifices one of its cogs to convince its victims they actually have peaceable recourse.

The governor of Oklahoma considers the natural human right to keep and bear arms, explicitly ennumerated in the Constitution she swore an oath to uphold, to be a "minor issue". 'Any other portions of the Bill of Rights similarly "minor," Governor, or is it just that one?'
Benghazi... and they call us liars.
Michael G. snarks, '"We made him famous by lying about him, and as a famous person he can't sue us for lying about him." Not even The Washington Post buys these arguments.'
Speaking of defamation, he also notes Science Teacher Suspended FOR TEACHING SCIENCE Gets Reinstated. This is not Lighter, not just because "School district officials refused to say that the science teacher is fully vindicated. He could still face some kind of punishment", but because it never should have happened at all. "...[A]n unidentified school employee saw at least one of the devices and got scared because, to her, it looked like a fearsome weapon." Slander? False police report? Defamation of character? "[T]o be confronted with the witnesses against him"? How is this... person's... behavior any different from the adolescent murder-by-proxy gangs in the Salem witch trials? I know which one belongs in a cage.
Anyone who was at the Bundy Siege is called upon to file criminal complaints against the thugs. Yes, file those complaints with their brothers-in-thuggery. And if they don't act, they can't say we didn't "work within" their system.

The next time someone uses the word "Islamophobia" in my presence I just might nail them into a crate and ship them to Saudi Arabia.
I was in WalMart last week and I noticed prepaid smartphones. Like the Tracfone, I presume they can be activated without, or with false, personal information. The enemy will have more trouble tracking you if they don't know whose signal to track - and it should be very little trouble at all to build a Faraday cage for something the size of a phone. Whip it out at predetermined times and put it back in the shielding after a certain interval, then scoot. -You could also be traveling in one direction while the phone is active, then change direction when shielded again. That's World War One submarine warfare tactics.
This sort of thing is why I voted for Ron Paul in the state Republican primary and for Gary Johnson in the general election. Mitt Romney and the Republican establishment offered, and still offer, no functional difference.

$IGH no luck on a replacement for Saint John. Saw a couple-few M1100s - none under twice the money I could possibly scrape together. OTOH I returned Saint John's barrel to the 'smith, again, and he says this time he'll weld the front sight on (and it should be ready long before I need it for the next 3-Gun match). It's a junk/spare barrel anyway, I still have the matching original 28" with factory full choke which I will not alter (in fact after the last cleaning I put him back together in original configuration, knowing I'd be returning the shorter barrel to the 'smith). As for the shell stops, I have spares of those from the same wrecked parts gun, and a lifter/carrier too, I may swap them in and see what happens (meaning an Actual Scientific Range Trip). I do know where I can get a kinda scruffy 870 pretty cheap but I hope I don't have to because "pretty cheap" is still half a month's rent and I just came off a financial crisis.
Besides, Saint John is just so f***ing cool. Racing against Benellis and Saigas and KSGs and whatnot with a ONE-HUNDRED-AND-FOUR-YEAR-OLD HUMPBACK DESIGNED IN THE HORSE-AND-BUGGY DAYS.
I must go shooting. It's the only thing giving me pleasure in life.
Never trust a bank of any kind? Not entirely the banks' fault, when they're being forced at government gunpoint to deny access to your accounts - though outright discrimination against legitimate businesses selling a Contitutionally-protected product is the banks' fault. 'Forty years ago when Nixon was caught covertly using government to target his perceived foes, Americans rose up in scorn and drove him out of office. Today, Obama can use the IRS to wound his political foes and use his "Justice" Department to cripple any business it wishes -- and Americans can't even work up a good yawn.'

Shambling Wrecktm's fuel leak is getting much worse. Can't find it. Remember that scene early in The Road Warrior where Max is laying bowls and such under the wreck to catch the juice? I got several ounces in one of those ice cream buckets I save for brass sorting. (I carry a plastic funnel in the car, for the 5-liter reserve can I also carry, to put it back in.) The leak does taper off after an hour or two but there's a damn puddle under the stern if I park somewhere to hike my stops.
Tried the binary putty on the radiator, evidently didn't hold under pressure. Or I didn't cover the whole leak. That's not as immediate a concern, I carry spare water. Actual coolant (which I do mix with the water so it's not straight water in the system) is more expensive than fuel but this leak is more alarming than threatening.

I'll call it Lighter: Prohibition Will FAIL. I'm no machinist but even I could spend a couple hundred bucks at Harbor Freight and start churning out latter-day Liberators. But there's an even simpler and less laborious way to acquire functioning weapons. Just make notes of where the serial-rapists-with-badges have their breakfast and take them.
Censorship Will FAIL too. Thomas Jefferson would love the Internet. -And probably would have invented it if the technology had been available in his time.

I'm sure someone, somewhere, really believes it's the fault of GEORGEBUSHDICKCHENEYHALLIBURTONGLOOOOOOBALWAAAAARRRRRMING. Either that or they're giving credit to Obama.
So I applied binary putty to an observed radiator leak. I can't tell if it worked because now there's an even bigger leak a couple inches away. The radiator is supposedly an aluminum core... in a plastic housing, and that's what's cracking and splitting and generally reaching the end of its service life. $120 and up for a replacement at the stores, $47 from the junkyard if I can find one that isn't just as bad.
And that's what I'll be doing this weekend.

And that is why I keep saying POLICE SHOULD NOT EXIST. The cure is worse than the disease. The cure is the disease.

Does that seem right to you? Which would lead inevitably to more of this: An official government policy of discrimination against Constitutionally-guaranteed products and activities. Once the precedent is set, how safe do you think your favorite thing will be in the next election cycle? Or are you simply planning to not have elections anymore? ...And you call yourselves "democratic"? Speaking of discrimination. “Mr. Reid and his fellow Democrats say the government should have the ability to decide who can spend money in elections and how much they are allowed to spend.” And when their side is "the government" George Soros and Michael Bloomberg can spend all they want.
A cop with a tax-funded pistol is a far greater threat to public safety than some Bubba with an AR and a half-dozen PMAGs.
Because the cop likes to hurt people.
Because the cop wants to hurt people.
GLOOOOBAL WAAAAARRRRRRMING “The problem with their theory is very simple: It is NOT true.”
If they weren't trying to destroy America what would they be doing different?
ARMED SELF-DEFENSE WORKS. Anyone who doesn't want you to have it is your enemy.
"I’d rather live in a world filled with half-trained or even untrained CCW carriers, if that’s the best we can do, than in a world of unarmed and helpless sheep." And so would I. Just as I'd rather live in a world without uniformed highway robbers everywhere I drive and uniformed child molesters at the airport.
Just the other day I was mentioning Bigelow Aerospace and hoping they'd get filthy stinking rich with the first orbital hotel/casino/resort. FASTER PLEASE
Their delusions. Rammed down our throats at the point of a government gun. "That such edicts intrude under other peoples’ roofs and on other people’s choices doesn’t matter to those who would dictate their will upon their countrymen, and remove all options but the ones they demand -- under force of state arms."
DON'T GO TO COLLEGE
Criminal's family may pursue legal action against victim. -Which atrocity I attempted to cover.
"Obviously, since we’re all such good friends, certainly the NSA simply asked for access [to every cell phone conversation in the Bahamas], right? Wrong."
Self-Destructive Jews, Chapter MMMCMLXXXVIII. "Religious groups that promote disarmament under the guise of faith are duping you into helplessness."
Speaking of religious groups as if we didn't have enough Enemies Domestic.
Such as: "What is making headlines now has long been known in other nations with national healthcare systems. It is about rationing, not dispensing care...."
YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK
IT'S NOT PARANOIA IF THE GOVERNMENT REALLY IS BRAINWASHING CHILDREN TO TURN IN THEIR PARENTS.
These are the Prophet Heinlein's Crazy Years.
These items are not Lighter because IT WILL ALL COME CRASHING DOWN you should really read Atlas Shrugged.
I TOLD YOU PROHIBITION WILL FAIL
NSA-resistant phone goes on sale next month deadly SWAT raid in 3, 2, 1....
Hokay, a year or three ago Mossberg offered a jackbootedthug (DEA) edition of their Model 500. Now I like the 500, it's tough and robust and I believe a stronger design than the Remington 870- but that kind of bootlicking really leaves a mark. I'm considering a replacement for Saint John for 3-Gun 'cause he's 104 years old and I worry about him. The Mossberg 930 would, without the bootlicking, be quite high on the list, especially since Jerry Miculek not only uses one but has his own version named after him - but I can't shake the bootlicking. Comes now an offering from CZ, which company is a name to conjure with - if I ever buy a 9x19mm it will be a CZ75, and my 70+ year old VZ24 is a weapon I'd bet my life on. But... I intend to never fill out another 4473.
Sigh.
Not supposed to be Lighter but the schadenfreude cannot be denied: Back here I predicted, Backstreets Pub & Grill, Clemson, SC, will get robbed at gunpoint... and it won't be a white, Republican, NRA member with a concealed handgun license doing it. This does not appear to be the same establishment but it was certainly the same kind of discrimination: "No one could resist them. Why? Because the owner of The Pit Authentic Barbecue has banned guns in his restaurant." They keep trying it their way and it keeps not working. We've been warning them, for decades, that exactly this thing would happen - and they still think it's our fault.
I view this as kind of Lighter: Police have still never faced a real opponent with real skills and a real plan. They are not capable of understanding they're the bad guys....
Col. Kratman's latest column, on Ukraine & stuff.
Sigh, skimmed the last hundred-odd pages of Weber's verbosity in Cauldron of Ghosts so I could return it to the library. Looks like I should have some Drake/RCN there tomorrow-like, and meanwhile I have electronic Correia.
...And lemme tell ya, while Weber is almost a chore to read because of the elebenty previous volumes we've invested so much of our lives in, Correia (Swords of Exodus) is enter-f***ing-taining.
SPEAKING OF LARRY CORREIA DIG THE VISUAL AID. If that Period Chart of Awesoments were a Bingo card, Larry Correia would break the house.
The radiator video is online. With Moar Kitteh Content!
EXTRA DOWNTOWNICK WITH BOXES BAH my feet hurt.
And the knees ain't too happy neither.
But at least I seem to finally be running out of phlegm. Eee-Vill Extraterrestrial Sinus Bug of DOOOOOM
Who are police at war with YEAH I KNOW WHO.
It's not paranoia if they really are getting realtime access to EVERYONE'S medical records.
It's not paranoia if there really is a concerted and deliberate effort to misinform everyone about everything.
IT'S NOT PARANOIA IF THEY REALLY ARE FANTASIZING ABOUT GENOCIDE.
"Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." -Okay admittedly that would have been entrapment of the same kind the Federal Bureau of Incineration practices when they "catch" a "terrorist" they've been deliberately grooming and supplying for months and years, but still, sometimes you do go for the low-hanging fruit.
Sweden is dying. Graphic content warning. AND THEY CAN'T EVEN SAY THE ENEMY'S NAME
Tangentially related, I'm calling this Lighter because the enemy has NO F***ING IDEA how big a hornet's nest they're poking.
Millenium Falcon. Working on it.
There are times I've regretted never serving in my nation's military.
Making a courier delivery to the Veterans Administration Hospital is not one of those times.
Blaming everyone who didn't do it and I notice the parole board has no liability here. Does that seem right to you? How do those things live with themselves? How can it not be on purpose?
A government kill-switch on the natural human right of self-defense. NO. -Though I wouldn't mind having a few of those "portable EMP devices" tucked away for the onrushing rainy days.
What kind of people don't want us able to defend ourselves? "...North Miami Mayor Lucie Tondreau, a member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns... who has been suspended from office by Gov. Rick Scott, faces charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud...."
And they call us "racist", Chapter MMMCMXC.
WHILE WE CAN'T EVEN SAY THE ENEMY'S NAME
We've tried it their way and it doesn't work.
And here's another thing wrong with America, the kind of which you can see everywhere, all the time, in everything: "It seems that any time there’s a group of people clustered around some activity regarded by our masters as a privilege requiring a license, there will always arise a subset of those same people whose primary passion is to defend the privilege from hoi polloi. Seriously, there are totally hams who will call the cops on anybody they find operating on their restricted frequencies without a license or without using established on-air protocols. Not only will they do it – they delight in doing it. They police the bands panting for the chance to do it. They brag about having done it.... It shouldn’t come as any surprise to me, to find such people in the gun world." I've met them. ...I think the board of directors for the gun-club-I-used-to-be-a-member-of is mostly comprised of them.
IT'S NOT PARANOIA IF THEY REALLY ARE OUT TO GET YOU
I am torn between two yummy books! On the one hand I'm about 1/3 through Correia's Swords of Exodus, sequel to Dead Six, in ebook, while today in dead-tree, from the library, I got Drake's The Sea Without a Shore, tenth and latest in his Leary-Mundy RCN series which has been (oft-squishy science aside) consistently yummy all the way through. My eyes will just have to take turns.
Police hate citizens and want to murder them. In so many of their own words.
This is why I intend to never again fill out a Form 4473. And if I need multiple firearms in a hurry, I know where to get them.
BURN THE SCHOOLS "This exercise in discipline was all about instilling fear."
Related, sorry, Zo, but you've grasped the wrong end of the equation. Government schools SHOULD NOT EXIST.
Open carry activism, sigh. -I am an absolutist. I don't care if someone dresses up like Sgt. Rock to go have their morning latte, as long as they follow the Four Rules. The problem is the soft-headed subhuman wretches who call the lying thieving sadistic bloodthirsty sociopaths to murder innocent, peacable human beings who choose to exercise their natural, pre-existing human rights.
Non-self-destructive Jews. As they should all be if they have the slightest clue of their history.
Ahem, 'hem: DAVID DRAKE WRITES GOOD STORIES, with characters the reader becomes deeply invested in, who make you want to find out what happens next. Weber's Honorverse can be a chore to read. Drake's RCN series is a genuine pleasure. YUM
Guns & Ammo magazine's state rankings of the natural human right to self-defense. It's in Suckage because most places do infringe.
I KEEP TELLING YOU THEY HATE US AND WANT US TO DIE AND THEY KEEP ADMITTING IT OUT LOUD.
AND THEY KEEP CALLING US "RACIST".
In the news, a major city's water supply goes "bad". Questions of data validity immediately arise, but if the lab tests are accurate, would you be okay? I actually am.
So on library disc I'm watching The Unit, a not-sucky military-action/drama series created by David Mamet, who is reportedly some kind of not-commie-anymore, which is rare for show business. The second-season episode "In Loco Parentis" has as its primary plot a Beslan-style school hostage situation set in Virginia (which I started warning about in these pages way back when the real one happened). And it occurs to me... an American SWAT team, comprised of door-kicking puppy-shooting kitten-stomping grandmother-tasering toddler-zip-tying 'roid-rage sociopaths, is at least as great a danger to innocent schoolchildren as the terrorists themselves, and if teachers were allowed to be armed (and not selected by their unions to be virulently anti-self-defense) such an attack would never get much farther than the foyer. Police should never have existed. They all look the same to me.
It's 2014. WHERE THE EFF IS MY FLYING CAR AND ROBOT BUTLER working on one of them anyway. WANT
"Santa Barbara killer’s family ‘staunchly anti-gun’" WHITE, REPUBLICAN, JOBHOLDING, TAXPAYING, NRA MEMBERS ARE NOT THE ONES GOING AROUND SHOOTING PEOPLE. And NOBODY wants to talk about that.
Rambling rural roadtrip with family on the holiday weekend, NO BLOG FOR YOU
There is one group of Americans who deserve my tax dollars. Our military veterans. Even if they've never deployed overseas, never fired a shot in anger - just signing that enlistment contract, swearing that oath, and putting on that uniform is more than I've ever done for this my country. That's what my taxes should pay for, and damn little else.
And if I were elected dictator there would be severed, squirting heads actually and in truth rolling along the corridors of Veterans Administration hospitals coast-to-coast. Turn the whole thing over to the Navy Marines.
IT'S NOT PARANOIA IF THEY REALLY ARE TRYING TO WIPE US OUT.
WE'RE NOT THE ONES DOING IT
We are the Jews of the 21st Century. Which is not to say that actual Jews aren't also under threats to their very existence.
Oh look, even more discrimination from the Veterans Administration. 'Veterans in particular have been dishonored enough in recent years, from the criminal and sometimes fatal manner those in need of medical care have been neglected, to having special efforts made to prohibit them from owning guns, to some in militarized “law enforcement” portraying them as domestic terrorists in waiting.'
What's wrong with the economy, illustrated.
SINK THE ISLAND
BURN THE SCHOOLS
"Tolerant" and "inclusive" DON'T GO TO COLLEGE
I had to sit staring at the monitor for a couple minutes before I could begin to describe the blatant psychosis of an MSNBC commentator saying "white privilege" was responsible for someone surviving the Holocaust.
I keep telling you, the "laws" are wrong and the enforcers are evil.
Free-market spacesuits FASTER PLEASE
Hollywood sucks. They couldn't tell a good story at gunpoint, for the last thirty or more years - except for the occasional foreigner and/or outcast whose works succeed in spite of the system. If there were directors and producers who still cared about making quality product, I can think of piles of story ideas. The Battle off Samar would be one. Here's another. ...If Hollywood did it they'd cast Ben Affleck who would portray the "hero" as a misogynist anti-semitic racist. -Maybe that belongs in Suckage....
You know what really happened at Isla Vista? It could have been prevented a dozen different times and every one of them passed the buck - while the "protectors" deliberately created an environment guaranteed to run up the body count by passing "laws" to rob and kidnap anyone who could have stopped it.
They're punishing everyone who DIDN'T do it.
"Do you want the Department of Precrime dragging people off or not?"
There's only one real reason for a government to want to know who owns weapons. Or to install a government kill-switch on the natural human right to self-defense. And it's not about our safety.
AN ADMINISTRATION OF RACISTS
BRAINWASHING STUDENTS
The next time someone uses the word "Islamophobia" in my presence....
Col. Kratman's new column actually belongs in Suckage because all that blood and treasure has been wasted. -Well, actually reading the column, not all of it. But a lot.
THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING IT UP although, there's a bit of robot butler in there, by extension....
IT WILL ALL COME CRASHING DOWN if they weren't trying to destroy America what would they be doing different?
TRAIN and PREPARE
Cure for cancer(s). Working on it.
Aside from the EPIC WIN of getting paralyzed people up outta their wheeled cages, this powered brain-controlled exoskeleton is one of the steps toward the Prophet Heinlein's Mobile Infantry.
The production of which also involves FABBERS which will CHANGE the WORLD
And which will also cause Prohibition to FAIL
Looks like someone to vote for in Occupied Connecticut.
John Lott is building a team. For the Cause.
BAH
Overloaded by covering another driver's route, 70 locations. My regular stops were done by deadline but the other 20-odd took an extra hour and a half.
During the course of which I slipped on a rain-slick sidewalk and scraped an elbow and palm.
At least my kitteh is available, in from the rain and curled up on my feet. D'awww.
In case you missed it the first dozen times - which is understandable if you only get the aforelinked Old Media - the Isla Vista murderer was not one of us.
It was one of them.
We know what causes this and we know how to stop it.
Speaking of them, I first heard of this gag more than a decade ago, likely from Stossel. It's probably at least twice as old.
IT'S NOT PARANOIA
Info on MREs. Which I have eaten on some occasions.
BAH more of the same, including on-demand forthing-and-backing and timed stops I couldn't make because they're too far apart among all the other stops I'm expected to deliver.
At least I didn't injure myself today. But like Wilford Brimley's character said in the Tom Selleck western Crossfire Trail, "Well hell- day ain't over yet."
'Just the kinds of "horrific crimes" forcible citizen disarmament advocates are taught to "seize opportunistically on." Just what they're waiting for. Just what they need.'
They keep trying it their way and even they know it doesn't work.
And they keep punishing everyone who didn't do it.
THIS IS NOT MY FAULT and I'm damn tired of being blamed for it.
This is supposed to be Lighter News but I can't see it that way until "the fundamental, individual right of self-defense under the Second Amendment, consistent with every other citizen, to protect himself or herself, and others, from apparent and immediate harm" includes defense against the liars, thieves, rapists and murderers with badges.
BUT THEY DON'T TRUST US.
Quisling. What's next, a Limited Edition Lon Horiuchi Commemorative? Seriously.
Self-destructive Jews, in Israel!? -The Israeli government is rather socialist, y'know, and nothing good ever comes of that. Excuses of "lifeboat socialism" aside.
Astute Observation o' the Year: "Some men kiss their chains."
Speaking of the ongoing Veterans Administration scandal, by chilling coincidence, last night on library disc I watched this episode of the classic TV series Rawhide.
It's not paranoia if "Michelle Obama... exhorted graduating high schoolers in a commencement address to monitor their families for politically incorrect thoughts and behaviors."
It's not paranoia if they really are building the Ministry of Truth.
It's not paranoia if they really are getting away with murder.
It's not paranoia if they really are considering using military force against US.
It is as though it were on purpose.
Back here MidWestReader (who has a half-dozen missives waiting in my inbox) sent me some pics of variously-butchered Kalashnikovs, often held together with a particular kind of packing tape, commenting, "The true Paki tape is most Halal."
What do police have to hide? Let's find out.
Scienty-fictiony suspended animation. Working on it.
It's mosquito season. EAT FLAMING CITRONELLA YOU LITTLE BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS
How is this not discrimination? How is it morally different from segregated water fountains and sitting in the back of the bus?
Speaking of "discrimination", more like hypocrisy.
Speaking of hypocrisy.
Mental health? Who defines? Bigots with agendas, that's who.
I keep telling you they don't see us as human beings and they keep proving me right.
Yet another reason to not buy a smartphone.
AND HOW IS THAT MY FAULT?
Michael G. sends, Minnesota ‘unsession’ purges more than 1,000 obsolete laws. MOAR PLZ
JUST LIKE GOD AND BOB HEINLEIN INTENDED FASTER PLEASE with fabbed engines no less WOO. -Also, F*** Putin. And F*** NASA.
Here's an interesting case - Ruger is suing Armscor over 10/22 clones. Where was Ruger twenty or thirty years ago when AMT brought out the stainless Lightning? AMT was also making a Ruger .22 pistol clone (probably a MkI). My first take on this is, the patents expired decades ago and Ruger's being a butt and Armscor is poised to bring 10/22(clone) prices back down to something working peasants can actually afford. As a commenter observes, how can it be a trademark violation if they're not calling it a "Ruger" or a "10/22"? Then there's the Kel-Tec angle and as long as that's being brought up, how about pre-1973 Blackhawks?
And they call us "greedy".
And they call us "ignorant bigots".
AND THEY CALL US "EVIL".
Speaking of evil, next time someone uses the word "Islamophobia" in my presence I just might nail them into a crate and ship them to Saudi Arabia Pakistan Nigeria Saudi Arabia again.
Okay yesterday I was all excited about Elon Musk taking making yet another step toward Millenium Falcon but this is unacceptable.
Because GOVERNMENT MAKES EVERYTHING WORSE FOREVER
The only good cop is a dead cop. They all look the same to me.
Um-
MATCH DAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY
CMP Garands at Lone Oak. No YouTubery, as I've done it before and one Garand match looks much like another. Score 227/0X of a possible 300 on the short course, 75.67%, not bad for no practice, mixed Greek-surplus ammunition, and half a year or more since the last time the Queen spoke.
Speaking of Greek surplus, one of the shooters actually is Greek and translated some of the Queen's grafitti! Her previous master must at one point have been stationed here:
He took photos of his own and will send along anything else he learns.
